Join Sandra Orr on Friday, November 16th, 6:30-8pm. Learn and practice self massage techniques. This will include self-rebounding, self myofascial release techniques and abhyanga oil massage. Students are advised to dress in layers, wearing a tank top and shorts to get the most out of the experience. Please bring water, a small hand towel and an open mind!
Sandra has always found that medicine comes through movement. She dedicated the first 17 years of her life to the passion of dance, finding freedom in flowing to music and igniting a connection with the physical body. She then shifted her creativity into movement with her hands and received her BFA in Sculpture from Massachusetts College of Art and Design, focusing on glassblowing, ceramics and sculptural weaving. From there she began her journey into the healing arts of yoga and bodywork. She received her 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training and Lotus Palm Thai Yoga Massage Essential Certification (Levels 1 & 2) from the Kripalu School of Yoga in Western, MA. After discovering an enthusiasm for healing through touch, Sandra studied multiple massage techniques, anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, pathology, hydrotherapy and more at Bancroft School of Massage Therapy. She is a Licensed Massage Therapist in the state of Massachusetts and holds certifications in CPR, First Aid, Cupping Therapy and Myofascial Release. Her motivation in her work is to assist others in finding balance from the inside out and inspiring them to prioritize self-care and well being.
